The State Library of Ohio is introducing the new Ohio Libraries Share -
MORE (OLS-MORE), a 90% unmediated software with the use of NCIP (NISO
Circulation Interchange Protocol).  NCIP is a protocol that allows the
resource sharing software to directly perform transactions with UNLIKE
circulation systems (i.e. automatically create a temporary record,
places holds on available items, check items in and out to generic ILL
patron, etc).  NCIP has eliminated double entries between the resource
sharing and circulation system.  

 

We are very excited to have this working on SirsiDynix Unicorn software;
soon to follow will be TLC, Horizon and Polaris.  

 

OCLC Pica, the OLS-MORE software vendor, will be present to answer any
questions you may have about NCIP and other upgrades to be showcased
(i.e. sending a request to OCLC as a library of last resorts without
double entry, unmediated AV item requests).
