The Greater Dayton IT Alliance and Dayton Metro Library are sponsoring a
contest for high school students, called The Miami Valley's Next Top
Entrepreneur. The contest will run through January with submissions due
at any Dayton Metro Library location by 8:30 p.m. January 31 (or by
email to rmiller at daytonmetrolibrary.org). The contest will ask students
to write about a new product or service that they have envisioned, who
the customers would be, and why this product or service would be
successful (in 1,000 words or less).

Prizes include cash, Microsoft software, and lunch with Dayton area
entrepreneurs.

THE CONTEST IS OPEN TO ANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE MIAMI VALLEY! I
can email you flyers to promote the contest at your libraries if
interested. Please help us promote the contest!

The contest is in conjunction with Entrepreneurship Week USA, sponsored
by the Kauffman Foundation, and to be held Feb. 24-March 3, 2007. You
can find out more information about the national event at
www.entrepreneurshipweekusa.com.

I'll leave you with this thought from Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST and
inventor of the Segway Human Transporter: "We need to show kids it's
more fun to design and create a video game than it is to play one."
