The Napoleon Public Library Board of Trustees would like to announce
the availability of the Rachael Bradley Myers and Dayl S. Myers
Scholarship in memory of their son, Joseph Bradley Myers. In 1988,
the Library Board received $75,346.31 from the Myers estate. The
principal is invested and the interest income may be used annually at
the discretion of the Trustees to provide a scholarship or
scholarships to aid a person or persons pursuing a fifth year degree
or Master's degree in Library Science. For 2006, $2,000.00 will be
disbursed for qualified MLS candidates in accordance with the Library
Board's decision.
To apply for the Myers scholarship, applicants must send a resume,
letter of intent, or essay concerning career goals to Napoleon Public
Library, 310 W. Clinton Street, Napoleon, Ohio 43545 by May 1, 2006.
Proof of admission to Library School must be included.
Since the Myers family was native to Henry county, the Library Board
feels preference should be given to Henry County residents who apply.
A personal interview with the Library Board on June 6, 2006 may be
required also. The scholarship winner will be required to give a
detailed account of expenditures and complete the program within three
years.
If prospective applicants have any questions, or desire more
information please contact Pam Lieser at (419)592-2531.
