  WebJunction Rural Library Sustainability Program workshop registration opens

  Registration for the WebJunction Rural Library Sustainability Program: Connecting Libraries and Communites workshops is now open at http://winslo.state.oh.us/cregister
  Ten one-day workshops will be held at various sites across the state between June 22 and Oct. 12, 2006. Jay Burton, Head Professional Development at the State Library is the trainer. The sessions will be beneficial to directors, staff and trustees of small and rural public libraries.
  The workshops focus on the issues and challenges facing small and rural public library staff. The curriculum is designed to assist small and rural public library staff in the development of public access computing sustainability strategies in such areas as technology maintenance and planning, outreach, funding, training and support, promotion and collaboration.
  Goals of the workshop include:

   Developing action plans to sustain public access computing and other library services;
   Networking and enhancing connections with colleagues; and
   Understanding and use of the WebJunction resources available to rural librarians.
  These workshops are made possible through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the State Library of Ohio. Register today at http://winslo.state.oh.us/cregister
