FY07 LSTA Disability Grant Funds available
The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce the availability of Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Services to Persons with Disabilities grant funds for FY06. All types of libraries (public, school, academic, special) may apply for funding.
The Services to Persons with Disabilities grant program focuses on internal library services that will provide access to information resources to persons with disabilities. Funds may be used for equipment and/or assistive technologies, training for staff and patrons, specialized reading materials for those with disabilities, and/or marketing and promotion. In order to receive LSTA funds under this program a library must submit, in conjunction with the funding proposal, an approve-able Plan for providing library services to the disabled.
Under this grant program a maximum of $24,000 in federal funds may be requested. A local match is also required; the local match must be 25% of the total project amount. Approved proposals will run from April 1, 2007 - Aug. 31, 2007.
The Request for Proposal can be found at http://winslo.state.oh.us/publib/lstadisability.html. Additional information on preparing an LSTA proposal can be found at the State Library's E-Learning Center at http://slo.minds.tv. LSTA staff are available to answer your questions and read draft proposals.
Proposals are due at the State Library by 5 p.m., Dec. 15, 2006.
