    Serving the Hearing Impaired: Deaf Services in the Library

*Are /all /your patrons hearing you? Learn how to serve the hearing 
impaired and especially patrons who are deaf in your community more 
effectively. This is a hands on, interactive program that will review 
Deaf Culture, signs for library service and tips to help you program for 
this often overlooked patron in your library.*

      Speaker(s)

Abby Noland has served as a hospital chaplain and as a librarian. She 
has worked in deaf communities across the country, most recently 
Cleveland, Ohio and now Preble County, Ohio. Ms. Noland serves on the 
National Association for the Deaf Ad Hoc Committee on National Deaf 
History Month that is urging the President of the United States to 
declare National Deaf History Month as endorsed by the American Library 
Association.
