NOLA REGIONAL LIBRARY TO DISSOLVE JUNE 30, 2006


 

Warren, Ohio-June 21, 2006, 2:00 p.m.-At the NOLA Membership Meeting
held yesterday, the NOLA Board of Trustees passed a resolution to
dissolve the NOLA Regional Library System.  This resolution had the
approval of the membership representatives in attendance.

This resolution serves as NOLA's written commitment of intent to
dissolve as of 12:01 a.m. on July 1, 2006 in accordance with the
directions of the State Librarian and with O.R.C. Section 3375.93.  NOLA
shall dissolve effective July 1, 2006, and shall transfer all of its
assets and liabilities to its Successor-in-Interest, the new Northeast
Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS).  The current NOLA Board will
continue to exist to serve during NOLA's closeout and to accept the
final audit.

This brings to a conclusion NOLA as one of the original seven Regional
Library Systems across the State who has served Ohio libraries over the
past 35 years.  

The staff and board of NOLA Regional Library System wish to express
their gratitude to the NOLA members for their support of this
outstanding organization.
