Program Description:
This workshop will provide an overview of all three workshops: for
parents/caregivers of Early Talkers (Newborn to Two-Year-Olds), Talkers
(Two- and Three-Year-Olds), and Pre-Readers (Four- and Five-Year Olds).
Includes current research on early literacy development, the role of the
parent/caregiver, and examples of the development of each of the 6 early
literacy skills at each level. Participants have hands-on practice with
parts of Talkers and Pre-Readers workshops. Includes information on
using the workshops to start new partnerships and to strengthen existing
ones. An important component of ECRR is outreach to partners. This
workshop is intented for those who have not attended an ECRR workshop in
the past, or only had a brief introduction to the project. This workshop
is a national workshop sponsored by two divisions of the American
Library Association - the Public Library Association and the Association
for Library Service to Children.
