[OPLINLIST] Filtering assistance deadline approaching

The deadline for sending in letters of application for this year's round
of Internet filtering assistance grants is October 12.  OPLIN provides up
to $10,000 to libraries wishing to add, upgrade, or maintain an Internet
filter.  Complete details are at www.oplin.org/filters.

Longtime OPLIN staffers claim that the OPLIN fax machine is cursed and
will always experience some kind of failure whenever we face any kind of
application deadline.  Sure enough, a power problem last week seems to
have made our new fax machine crazy.  I have acknowledged receipt of all
letters that we currently have, so if you have sent in a letter of
application and have NOT heard from me, please try again or give me a
call.
