Genealogy on the Web - Basics for Non-Genealogist Librarians

If you would like to do a better job helping patrons who are already
doing genealogical research or if you want to help patrons who want to
start researching their family tree, then this full-day workshop is for
you! You'll learn where to locate genealogical forms and checklists that
you can provide for patrons, at no cost, thanks to the Web. You'll learn
where you can locate online "how to" tutorials for beginning
genealogists. You'll also learn many simple search techniques that will
really help patrons find their relatives in online resources, as well as
how to document where genealogical information comes from, and how to
locate other folks who will help your patrons do some of their
genealogical "leg work." Finally, you'll learn about some of the best
genealogy sites on the Web and sites that contain information about
folks who lived in Ohio. Since this is a lab-based workshop, you'll get
some time to practice the skills you learn and explore some of the best
genealogy sites on the Web.
