Starting Nov. 15 and continuing through Dec. 31, anyone who's eligible...

Starting Nov. 15 and continuing through Dec. 31, anyone who's eligible for
Medicare can sign up for Medicare prescription drug coverage.

Changes made during this open-enrollment period go into effect Jan. 1.

Here are some places to turn for help selecting a plan:

. The Medicare program offers help 24 hours a day, seven days a week at
800-633-4227 or by visiting www.medicare.gov <http://www.medicare.gov/> .
Make sure you have your Medicare card and list of prescriptions handy when
you call or go online if you want personalized help.

. The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program answers questions
over the phone and can refer people to trained counselors in their area for
in-person help. Call 800-686-1578 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday.

. The Greater Akron/Canton Area Agency on Aging offers help at 330-896-9172,
Ext. 3209, or 800-421-7277.

. Low-income Medicare enrollees can still sign up for extra help getting
prescription drug coverage, including plans with no monthly premiums and
reduced or no co-pays. Call 800-772-1213 or visit www.ssa.gov
