TechConnections 8 is now accepting proposals for both Administrative and
Technology Track programs. We invite you to submit proposals via email to
Sarah Ray, Continuing Education Coordinator, at sarah at swonlibraries.org.
The call for proposals will close Friday, April 13, 2007.

librarians must take advantage of the power inherent in the historic civic
institution of the library while finding new ways to leverage technology,
the world's information repositories, and the library's physical and
virtual spaces.

Michael Stephens is an Instructor in the Graduate School of Library and
Information Science at Dominican University and among other things, is the
author of "Tame the Web <http://www.tametheweb.com/>," a blog of 
libraries and technology.
Since 2000, he has presented at library conferences locally, nationally
and on the international level as well as workshops for libraries and 
library
associations, published "The Library Internet Trainer's Toolkit" - a 
series of
technology training modules, has been named as one of Library Journal's 
Movers
and Shakers, and served as a Scholar in Residence at the Chicago Public 
Library
with Jenny Levine and Stephen Abram.

The Ohio Library Council <http://www.olc.org/index.asp> will hold their 
annual Technology Bootcamp on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the 
Westerville Public Library. The Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio, has 
graciously extended their special TechConnections 8 Room Rate to those 
attendees who wish to stay over and attend the Bootcamp.
