Space is still available for the Ohio Preservation Council's 2007
symposium, "Preservation Strategies for the Care and Storage of
Photographic Collections," on Thursday, September 20, from 9 AM to 3:30
PM at Ashland University's J. C. Myers Convocation Center in Ashland,
Ohio.

The symposium's featured guest will be nationally-known photograph
conservator, Gary E. Albright, former conservator at the George Eastman
House and now professor of Art Conservation at both the State University
of Buffalo and the University of Delaware. Emily Helwig and Charles
Eiben of the Intermuseum Conservation Association, and Elizabeth
Bardossy of the Cleveland Public Library will join Mr. Albright to
educate attendees on topics ranging from treatment methods and common
problems encountered with photograph care to housing images in archival
storage containers, family albums and scrapbooks.

This valuable symposium is for anyone wanting to know more about how to
properly preserve photographic materials. The content is particularly
well suited to staff from museums, libraries and historical societies.

Registration is open until September 6, 2007. Fees are $35 for OPC
members and $65 for non-members. Lunch is included in the registration
fee.

For more information or to register for the symposium, visit the Ohio
