Supervisory Skills Workshop: Communication and Listening
<http://www.swonlibraries.org/viewevent?id=880>
Developing excellent communication and listening skills is absolutely
essential to supervision. A supervisor must be able to share knowledge
and ideas, get their message across clearly, and be an effective
listener which allows others to feel heard and understood. Supervisors
don't just engage in communication- they /rely/ upon it. It's what they
use to inform, instruct, direct, develop, motivate, convince, correct,
collaborate and achieve. This workshop will address the key components
of communication and listening as well as offering practical tips to
improve your skills in these critical areas.
· Identify keys to communication excellence
· Review and define the communication process
· Discuss effective communication and delivery methods
· Practice active listening skills
