[OPLINLIST] Video Camera Recommendations

Hello all,
We are looking for a video recorder that can be used for filming events. We want to be able to edit and download (upload) to our website and possibly local public access TV. Do any libraries have a camera that they would recommend? Tapes vs. DVD? Format concerns, etc.? Is anyone else doing this? Thanks in advance.
