Tell a colleague <http://www.neo-rls.org/ce/emailevent.cfm?ID=305>
Program Date: 11/14/2007
Program Time:9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Speaker:
Janine Moon, CompassPoint Coaching
Program Description:
The workshop reviews the components of a formal mentoring program, guides participants in determining if a formal program is appropriate for a particular environment and identifies the purposes and outcomes of such a program. It reviews the differences on the continuum between a formal program and an informal one, and allows participants to determine where along that continuum their organization may fall. The workshop also guides attendees to recognize and define the structure, expectations, skills and support mechanisms critical to a successful mentoring program; and to be very clear on the etiquette, tools, knowledge and skills that participants must practice for a successful mentor-protégé relationship.
Objectives:
Participants leave the session with:
1. What mentors and protegees want from a mentoring relationship;
2. Formal and informal programs; local and distant relationships;
3. Benefit of participation for mentors, employees, the organization;

5. How to care for the relationship, keeping it relevant and thriving;
