On December 20, 2007, OHIONET turns 30, but the celebration starts
early!  You are invited to join us on Thursday, November 15, for the
OHIONET 2007 Annual Meeting: Celebrating 30 Years of Service.   

This year's meeting will feature sessions of interest to all members and
speakers with innovative ideas about 21st century libraries.  Karen
Calhoun, newly-appointed Vice President for OCLC WorldCat and Metadata
Services and author of the oft-discussed "Calhoun Report," will deliver
the keynote address, "Discovery, Catalogs and Collections in the Idiom
of the Web."   The day will end with two 90-minute sessions on topics
you have told us you wanted to know more about.  David Singleton of the
Georgia Library Service and Josh Ferraro of LibLime will join some of
Ohio's Open Source enthusiasts for a conversation on what's next for the
Open Source movement.  Opposite the Open Source session, public,
academic and school community leaders will share their success stories
at using Web 2.0 tools for outreach and community building.  In between,
you can attend sessions on the future of WorldCat services, marketing to
stay relevant, tips for selecting electronic resource management
systems, NextGen resource discovery tools, analysis of collection use in
the OhioLINK Consortium, and more.  

Many of our members took part in focus groups and interviews earlier
this year as part of the OHIONET Organizational Redesign Project.  We
listened to what you said, and the data we gathered has been valuable in
planning new programs and services.  Take a brief look back at
significant milestones of the last 30 years; get an update on the
Reorganization; and hear what lies ahead at the OHIONET Business
Meeting.
