Program Description:
By popular demand...an entire workshop just for the young adult/teen
librarians! Join Rosemary Honnold, teen librarian and author, whose works
include The Teen Reader's Advisor and Get Connected: 50 Tech Programs for
Teens, as she shares programming ideas especially geared towards the
"Metamorphosis at Your Library" theme as well as other popular program ideas
that will have teenagers swarming into your library. After learning the
logistics of planning and implementing these programs, there will be
hands-on live demonstrations! Try designing a henna tattoo, rock out with
"Guitar Hero" on Playstation 2 and show off your bowling skills with
Nintendo Wii. Try as many or as few of these activities as you like!

Looking to bring in some outside entertainment for your teenage patrons? Two
performers from the central Ohio area will showcase programs they have
developed especially for a young adult audience that they would love to
bring to your library. We'll wrap up the day with participants breaking into
small groups and sharing their own ideas, so please bring examples of
programs you plan to use over the summer for these small group breakout
sessions. 

Registration and breakfast begin at 9:00. Workshop begins at 9:30. Breakfast
and lunch are included in this workshop.
