Justin,
We offer our patrons any tax form that can be downloaded from the IRS web
site. We have many paper copies of standard forms on hand, but obviously we
cant have everything. ,W2 & W3 forms are available from the IRS web site,
but they come with this notice in the instructions:
Caution. Because the SSA processes paper forms by
machine, you cannot file with the SSA Forms W-2 and W-3
that you print from the IRS website. Instead, you can use the
SSA website at
www.ssa.gov/employer/bsohbnew.htm to create and file
electronically fill-in versions of Forms W-2 and W-3.
We do print these off for patrons from the web site if they want them, but
its up to them to purchase and file the correct versions. Patrons can
contact the IRS by phone to order the correct forms, or purchase them from
an office supply store. Also we only print off one (1) form at no charge
any others are 10¢ per page.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [OPLINLIST] Tax Form Questions (W-2 & W-3 forms)
Greetings!
Our library tries to provide the most commonly requested tax forms and
instruction booklets for individual taxpayers, but we have been receiving an
increasing number of requests from business owners for W-2 and W-3 forms.
How many libraries out there offer copies of these forms for the public? If
so, are you ordering large quantities of these forms? If not, do patrons
seem surprised when they are told that W-2 and W-3 forms are not available
at the public library? Thanks in advance for responding!
