[OPLINLIST] Public Library Survey Update

If you have tried to access the online report form for the public
library survey you will have noted that it is not yet available.  Last
year during Lisa Hickle's first year as State Data Coordinator, she
discovered many areas where the survey could be changed in order to make
completing of the survey easier for librarians and to provide better
data for your use.  Making those changes and enhancements took longer
than anticipated and the 2007 Survey is currently in testing at
Bibliostat.  As soon as it is available an announcement will be sent to
you.

 

In the meantime, some of the changes you can expect to see include:

*	Detailed instructions for every question (Instructions
rewritten) 
*	Salary ranges (Section 7) will no longer be collected 
*	Financial information (Sections 15 and 16) aligned to match the
State Chart of Accounts 
*	More sections pre-populated 
*	Default of "0" in many fields 
*	Many questions deleted (Section 5's professional/support staff
section, policy questions, daily schedule and more) 

 

The State Library apologies for the delay in posting this year's survey.
We feel the end result will be beneficial to Ohio's public libraries.
