*Registration & Breakfast - 8:30 -- 9:30 a.m.*
*Morning Session*---State Librarians, Jo Budler, Roberta Brooker, and
Wayne Onkst, will discuss the "state of libraries" in Ohio, Indiana and
Kentucky.
*Afternoon Session* - The Library Degree: Is It For Me?
P.M. Bradshaw, Chair of OLSSI, and Douglas Morrison, founder of OLSSI
and President of ALAO, discuss their personal experiences and career
choices in the library field; Mr. Bradshaw as a library assistant, and
Mr. Morrison as a librarian.
*Breakout Sessions* - Each breakout session will be offered two times.
*Option I: Retirement*
Have you ever thought about what you are going to do with your life
AFTER libraries? Join David Haire for this exploration of opportunities.
*Option II: Educational Opportunities * - Participants will have time to
ask personal questions.
*?*/MLIS/ - Rhonda Filipan from Kent State and Dennis Carrigan from the
University of Kentucky will discuss their Master of Library and
Information Science (MLIS) programs.
*?*/Library Certification/ -- Katy McBryan will discuss the the library
certification program through the Bluegrass Community and Technical
College (BCTC).
*?*/Bachelor Completer Program/ - Leslie Hammann will discuss the
Bachelor Completer program available at Northern Kentucky University.
*Option III: Professional Development Opportunities*
/Computer Literacy for Library Staff/ - Louis Mays, Librarian at
Southern State Community College, will discuss the International
Computer Driving License, Learn2.com, and Atomic Learning.
Meal
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Contributing Member of SWON Libraries - $5 off if Registered by
August 1
(Price will be $60 after August 1).
