OHIONET is proud to announce its newest training calendar! For complete
workshop details-including registration information-visit the following
link: http://www.ohionet.org/training_calendar.php.

Here are some of the highlights in the upcoming months:

*	Web 2.0: This trend is here to stay! Find out how you can implement
2.0 technologies in your respective workplaces, and get some hands-on
experience with blogs, wikis, podcasting and more with What's the Point of
2.0? The "How" and "Why" for Libraries and There's More to Know with 2.0!
Also, explore the virtual world of Second Life with Getting a Second Life:
An Introduction to the Metaverse for Libraries and the use of 2.0 tools for
online instruction in Wink and More! Using Free Software for Library
Instruction.

*	Change-Oriented: How do changes taking place outside your library
affect you on a day-to-day basis? New trends are coming down the pike that
impact the way materials are cataloged. Find out more in The Future of
Technical Services. Also, keep up with the latest changes and additions to
copyright law in Copyright and the Library: Everything You Need to Know But
May Be Too Afraid to Ask.

*	Expanded and Revised: Two of our most popular workshops have been
expanded to full-day sessions to include more information and hands-on
elements. If you're not happy with your current library catalog, join us for
The McDreamy OPAC: Creating a Vision for Next Generation Search Tools to
learn tips and trends on how to make your library's OPAC an accessible,
inviting interface for your users. Also, if your Interlibrary Loan processes
are stuck in a rut, you may be interested in Taking ILL to the Next Level.

*	Fundamentals of Cataloging series: After taking the show on the road
to the four corners of the state in the spring, OHIONET's own Roman
Panchyshyn is delivering all five of these sessions in one centralized
location here in Columbus. Join us as current cataloging trends driving
classification, description, subject analysis, continuing resources, and A/V
materials are discussed. Also, in December join us for a Library of Congress
workshop Integrating Cataloging Resources, which has an emphasis on
electronic resources.

*	Workflow Analysis: Could some areas of your library need a tune-up?
Perhaps the workshops Acquisitions: New Directions and Best Practices or the
always-popular Technical Services Workflow Analysis are for you! Or, if
you're looking for a way to better integrate the Interlibrary Loan process
into the reference transaction, Using ILL/Direct Request to Enhance
Reference may be the solution!

*	Distance learning: Through our partnership in the Network Education
Exchange (NEE), OHIONET is proud to be able to offer access to online
workshops covering topics such as digital imaging management, web
development, a podcasting primer, and more!

For your added convenience, a printable PDF file of the continuing education
schedule can be found here:

The training calendar's content can also be aggregated into your favorite
RSS reader by adding the information at the following link:

miss a late addition to the schedule!

As always, if you have any questions about OHIONET's workshops-or ideas for
future ones-please let me know.

Sincerely,

Evan
