Speaker:
Georgene Johnson has been in libraries for 37 years. She began her library
career at Cleveland State University as a serials order clerk. At Marietta
College, she was Head of Technical Services. Seeking the challenge of
automating a library, Georgene was Director of Technical Services at
Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah. As Library Director at
Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, she assisted the library
staff in migrating to their second automated system and focused on team
management. She has been Director of Library Services at Washington State
Community College since 1998.
Program Description:
We have all worked with people who "just don't get it." Why can't they
change faster or adapt to new technology? Others adapt to new technologies
and trends like a fish in water. Four generations now meet and interact
together in today's workforce. What motivates them? The goal of this
workshop is to make participants aware of the differences between Veterans,
Boomers, Gen Xers, and Nexters. Learn how to maximize job satisfaction
amongst employees of diverse age groups, as well as how to best serve
different generations of patrons.
Meals: No meal is included in this workshop
Audience: Anyone who works with employees or patrons of varying ages.
