Program Description:
Come grow with us! The Southeast Regional Library System (SERLS) would like
to invite you to our first membership meeting and information session. This
meeting is open to directors and adminstrators of any public, school,
academic or special library within the SERLS service area of southeast and
central Ohio. The schedule for the day is as follows:

8:30 a.m.- 9:30 a.m.: Registration and Breakfast

9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.: Attend a brief information session with SERLS' new
director, Mary Leffler, to learn more about SERLS, how we are growing and
all the services we offer our member libraries.

10:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.: "Strategic Planning for Libraries" workshop with
Kordell Norton. In the past if you wanted to create a new mission statement,
vision and direction or a Strategic Plan you would search out a consultant
who would work with you and your organization over several weeks and months.
In the words of today's youth, "that is so yesterday."

You are invited to experience the new way that cutting edge organizations
create directions, strategies, goals and plans in hours instead of days.
Using a process called "graphic facilitation", you will learn how to draw on
the wisdom and creativity of your planning group or committee to quickly
gather collective insights that can help you achieve your library's
strategic goals. Long considered a competitive advantage, many corporations,
schools and other organizations now quickly create and implement their
strategies, goals, and objectives using this process. Learn the strategic
planning methods used by organizations like: Hewlett-Packard, State Farm,
Procter & Gamble, Levi, Intel, American Red Cross, US Army, US Department of
Education, and hundreds of others.

If you have thoughts on where things should be headed and you would like to
participate in something that is new and different from any type of
planning, goal setting, retreat, or workshop you have ever attended, put
this event on your calendar NOW.

Breakfast and lunch provided.
