Greetings!

 

There is still time for you or a fellow staff member to register for
OHIONET's workshop, The McDreamy OPAC: Creating a Vision for Next Generation
Search Tools-back by popular demand!

 

OPACs sure have changed since the days of the card file.... and boy do they
have a long way to go to meet existing customer expectations! Explore the
current landscape of library search tools from OPACs to federated searches
to newer discovery platforms. Take a hands-on tour of trends from
non-library search tools. Learn strategies on how to form an evolving vision
for your future OPAC, as well as tips for negotiating future development
with vendors. This workshop has been NEWLY-EXPANDED to a full day to
accommodate more "hands-on" activities and information about vendor
relationships.

 

Instructor: Jessi Crim-Weithman, Associate Director of Support Services,
Westerville Public Library

When: Thursday, September 25th, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
