Spotlight On WebJunction Ohio Courses
”Ohio WebJunction & Library Staff Competencies”
WebJunction has released “Library Management Competencies”, a guide to courses and resources to help current and aspiring library managers to be more successful in their work. Combined with the Ohio competencies developed by the Ohio Library Council, these courses provide knowledge and skills to increase on-the-job effectiveness in tailored, personal learning plans using self-paced, online courses, which include:
Budget & Funding
Community Relations
Facilities
Law, Policies & Procedures
Marketing
Organizational Leadership
Personnel Management
Project Management
Staff Training & Development
Strategic Planning
Trustees and Friends
Access is simple, visit the WJOH website oh.webjunction.org and log in using your WJOH account, select the “Course Catalog” tab, then select the competencies tab.
Individual courses can be selected under each sub-category. For example, under Facilities, the following courses are available:
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Computer Ergonomics
• Keeping Your Library Looking Good
• Merchandising That Works
In addition, there are related resources that you can choose from for each category. In this case,
