[OPLINLIST] police car/book program

Our Friends group is planning on sponsoring a program that supplies books for patrol cars. The purpose is to give a book to a child in an emergency situation to distract or calm them down. 
I'm wondering if any one out there has done this in their community and would be able to offer information on  what works etc.
