This is the 20th year that the Youth Services Symposium will be held in
Ohio for
children's and teen librarians. This year's program will highlight
children's
services. Keynote speakers include Laura Vaccaro Seeger, Caldecott Honor
&
Geisel Award winner, (First the Egg, Dog and Bear series) and Alyssa
Satin
Capucilli, award-winning author of the Biscuit series. In addition,
there will
be a performance by family concert performers Chip (Richter) and the
Munks. The
location will be Saw Mill Creek Resort, Huron, Ohio.

Library Systems. Registration for the May 14 - May 15 event will begin
in March.
For the first time, we are holding a contest to select speakers for
break-out
sessions. We are looking for presenters who are willing to share some of
their
fantastic program ideas with others attending the conference. Focus for
the
programs should be for children in grades K - 4. A panel of three will
judge the
entries, and there will be 3 presenters selected. Winners will receive
FREE
CONFERENCE registration for the two-day event, and a paid hotel room for
Thursday night. The only cost to the winner will be travel costs to
Sandusky,
Ohio. Deadline to enter the contest is March 27. (FIRM!)
