[OPLINLIST] volunteers

What jobs/tasks are volunteers doing in your library?  Are there libraries
that use them beyond shelving and programming help?  We are facing a severe
staff shortage, with layoffs and wonder where is the best area to utilize
volunteers.  We have many from our community wanting to help the library.
