[OPLINLIST] Defining a Graphic Novel collection?

Everyone,

A question for the collective wisdom: How do you define a Graphic Novel
collection?

We are starting to set up a Graphic Novel collection in our library, and
have run into a disagreement. One side says that the collection should be
limited to "traditional" graphic novels - complete stories told in one
installment - and collections of magazine or comic book articles. The
other thinks that collections of newspaper strips should be included too,
since some (i.e., The War Within by Trudeau) are actually tightly plotted
novels, and even the totally plotless ones (Garfield Gains Weight) are
more like fiction than the art instruction books that make up the rest of
the 741s and would circulate better in the new location.

So how do you you define your collections?

How would you like to define them?

Thanks in advance for your comments,
