Description:

Arts and Crafts are all the rage today. Some patrons want to learn how to
make crafts and express their artistic side. Others want to read about
amazing artists and crafts people. And there are those patrons who want to
curl up with a good book about their favorite hobby. Here's an opportunity
to learn and explore the arts and crafts collections in your library, as
well as online resources- just in time to prepare for the "creative" summer
reading program theme this year!

This workshop will combine Readers' Advisory with reference. First we'll we
look at how-to-do-it books for the patron who wants to start a project. Then
we'll explore fiction and non-fiction on the same subjects. There are great
whodunits and classic fiction novels as well as wonderful biographies and
art books.
Goals:

. Learn basic reference tools and Internet sites that feature Arts &
Crafts

. Refresh Reference Interview skills to determine which tools and
resources in these subject areas serve your patrons' needs.

. Explore novels and non-fiction about the arts and crafts - for all
ages.

. Check out websites on all these topics.

Cost:
Dues Paying Members of SERLS, NEO-RLS, SWON or NORWELD: $0
