Greetings!

You've heard about it, and now it's almost here: RDA! Join us for the
workshop: Preparing for RDA: The Basics! RDA (Resource Description and
Access) is the new cataloging standard that is poised as a successor to
AACR, and is due for release in late 2009. This change signals a new
direction for cataloging rules and catalog records. This workshop aims at
preparing catalogers and other library staff for the arrival of RDA. It will
focus on the basic structure of RDA, including Groups 1, 2 and 3, their
attributes and relationships. Each chapter will be explained and will be
compared to AACR2. There will be many real-world examples to illustrate the
concept of RDA to the class. Please bring your questions, as they help to
spur classroom discussion.

When: Wednesday, June 10th, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
