[OPLINLIST] Important news for libraries with SOMACS circuits

If your library pays for T1 circuits for your branches under the state
SOMACS contract ($400 per month), please note that the automatic contract
renewal beginning July 1, 2009 will be for a 24-month period. THIS IS A
CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS MONTH-TO-MONTH TERM. If you decide to disconnect
a T1 circuit before June 30, 2011, you will be charged a penalty of $200
for every month remaining in the term. For instance, if you disconnect a
T1 on December 31, 2010, you would owe a penalty of $200 per month for 6
months (January through June 2011) or $1,200.

There is an option to continue on month-to-month terms, but your monthly
cost would go up to $450. Under this option you could disconnect a T1 at
any time with no penalty. If you decide to switch to this option, you MUST
contact OPLIN Support by email (support at oplin.org) and request the change
by JUNE 15.
