Program Description:
Larry Corbus has worked with over fifty libraries and communities in
placing levies and bond issues on the ballot throughout Ohio and the
Midwest. He will provide information essential in preparing a library on
placing an issue on the ballot and will describe the roles of the Board
,Staff, Administration,Friends,the taxing authorities and Political
action committees. 

Specifically his presentation will include: 

*	Explain the differences between a levy and bond issue 
*	Determining the size of a levy or bond issue
*	Determining the tax valuations for your District
*	Timing for placement of a levy or bond issue
*	Options for placing a levy 
*	Determining the length of the levy
*	Role of legal Counsel
*	Usefulness of polling,surveys and focus groups
*	Forming a political action committee(PAC)
*	Do's and Don'ts of a levy or bond issue 

Deborah O'Connor will share Tips from a Library Director who has "been
there." She will tell you how Geauga County Public Library passed their
levies and bond issues and how you can apply the strategies of Geauga
County Public Library to your library.
