Our library has been approached by a local candidate running for election in
November. He has asked permission to post a campaign sign in the front yard
of the library. He has made the point that the term "public library" makes
the lawn "public grounds" available to everyone. Have any of your libraries
ever dealt with this type of situation, and if so, how did you handle it?
Is there a set protocol that you follow in order to remain on neutral ground
politically? Thank you in advance for any response or ideas shared.
