[OPLINLIST] E-Rate Riders

For libraries that purchase T1 lines under the state's SOMACS contract 
with AT&T, you may be wondering if you will have to sign an E-Rate rider 
to that contract as was the case two years ago.

It's our understanding that the E-Rate riders will be required again 
when the SOMACS contract is extended for another two years. Currently, 
AT&T and the state have not agreed on the terms of the SOMACS extension, 
so there is no contract for the E-Rate rider to "ride" on at this point. 
If past history is any indication, however, the contract extension may 
be completed within the next couple of weeks.
