The Grandview Heights Public Library (Columbus, OH) is seeking a part-time Youth Services Librarian who is very enthusiastic, motivated, friendly and loves working with children of all ages. This position requires programming to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, elementary & middle school age children as well as outreach programming to schools, preschools and daycare facilities in the area.  Other responsibilities include circulation duties, assistance with collection development, patron assistance with readers advisory and other related requests, displays and material marketing.  

This position requires a MLIS degree from an accredited library school.  Completion of coursework in library services for youth is a definite plus.  Previous experience with children in a library is strongly preferred.  The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of children’s literature, excellent storytelling skills, understanding of child development and behavior, and the ability to work comfortably with children and teenagers.  Candidate must possess excellent computer skills as well as strong communication, writing, and reading skills.  Must be enthusiastic about working with children of all ages and their parents in the library and be able to develop excellent rapport with co-workers and patrons.

Salary/Benefits:  $18.23 per hour, vacation, sick leave, funeral leave, holidays and state retirement fund (OPERS).
