Licking County Library- Newark, Ohio

 


Information Commons Aide- Grade 4 (2 Part-time openings)


Information Technology @ Newark Library, Newark, Ohio

 

Under the general supervision of the Head of Information Technology
Services, the person in this position works in the Information Commons
area of the Newark Library.  He or she assists library customers in use
of the public Internet computers, word processing, downloading,
printing, and other related technology.  The person in this position
will also be required to teach basic computer classes for the public,
assist with the library web-site and other on-line marketing updates and
development.  

 

These are part-time positions. One Aide will be hired at 15 hours per
week and one at 20 hours per week. Opportunity for extra hours may occur
on occasion but will not exceed 49.5 hours in a two-week pay period. The
successful candidate will work a varying schedule including evenings and
weekends, Monday through Saturday. The successful candidate, if needed,
could be required to work additional hours on Sundays at the Newark
Library.

Pay Rate

The pay for this position starts at $11.1566/hour - Grade 4, Step A.
This position is not eligible for the library's fringe benefit package.


 

Probationary Period

The first 6 months in this position are considered probationary in
nature.  The successful applicant's performance will be reviewed at 6
months. If the employee's performance is not satisfactory, the employee
may be terminated.  If in the opinion of the supervisor, it seems the
employee needs more time to show they can perform at the expected level,
the probationary period may be extended for a maximum of three more
months. If the employee's performance is still not satisfactory at the
end of this second probationary period, their employment with the
Library will be terminated.

to Section 1.210 of the Staff Handbook.
