Due to an error by the local newspaper in posting our legal notice of sale, the dates to bid on our bookmobile and other vehicles for sale has changed as follows:


PUBLIC SALE NOTICE

The Board of Trustees of the Fairfield County District Library has declared the following as surplus property to be sold to the highest bidder as follows:

 1.  2006 Farber Specialty Elf Low Floor Bookmobile Model 25T with 20,900 miles, to be sold to the highest bidder with an acceptable minimum bid of $75,000.00.
 2.  A 1999 Step Van Delivery Truck with 143,434 miles to be sold to the highest bidder.
 3.  John Deere Riding Lawnmower (NR) – Model 420 to be sold to the highest bidder.

The following bidding procedures are to be followed:

 1.  Submit a written bid to the Fairfield County District Library, 219 North Broad Street, Lancaster, OH 43130, Attention: Fiscal Officer. The bid should be typed or plainly printed, and must include the vehicle requested, amount of the bid, the bidder’s name, address, and daytime telephone number.

 1.  All bids must be received at the above address no later than 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 and the bids will be opened promptly at 12:35 p.m. by the Fiscal Officer. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that the bid has been received by the Library.

 1.  The Fiscal Officer reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The Fiscal Officer will open and announce the bids, and award the bid to the highest bidder, if any acceptable bids remain. If no acceptable bids are received, the Fiscal Officer will attempt to dispose of the vehicle in another manner.

 1.  If identical bids are received, the earliest bid received by the Library, as noted on the envelope, will be awarded the bid. No oral bids will be accepted.

 1.  The winning bidder must pay for the vehicle within seven (7) days of the written notification of the bid award. This payment must be made by certified check or money order, made payable to the "Fairfield County District Library." No other form of payment is acceptable. If such payment is not made within this time frame, the Fiscal Officer may withdraw the award and give it to the next highest bidder.

The bookmobile, delivery truck and lawnmower will be sold in their present condition with no guarantee or warranty. Removal and transportation of item purchased is the responsibility of the buyer and must be removed with seven (7) days of the bid award.

The vehicles and lawnmower can be inspected at the Northwest Branch Library, 2855 Helena Drive NW, Carroll, Ohio on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. or on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
