The Kingsville Public Library is seeking applicants for the position: 
Head of Children and Youth Services. This position is 24-34 hours per 
week and includes nights and weekends. Rate of Pay: $9.00/hour (or) 
$10.00/hour, dependent on qualifications. Knowledge in programming, 
materials, services and trends in library services for children and 
youth is required.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

·Plans and implements children's and youth programs for the library.

·Works as a liaison with the schools to promote use of the library.

·Collection development and maintenance.

·Creates marketing materials, press releases and displays.

·Keeps up to date on current library trends in children and youth services.

·Collects statistics, presents annual programming goals and quarterly 
progress reports to director.

·Works with AV equipment on a regular basis.

·Assists at circulation desk.

**

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

·Degree related to education or children's services preferred.

·Strong knowledge of children's and youth literature.

·Must be creative and outgoing; storytelling or puppeteer experience a 
plus.

·Availability to work night and weekends.

·Prior experience working with children.

·Knowledge of graphic design in Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*

·Extended periods of physical activities with children, standing when 
working at service desk and shelving items.

·Bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching and climbing step stools.

·Ability to carry up to 45 pounds in equipment or materials.

·Work in a frequently dusty atmosphere with potential exposure to 
airborne pathogens.

·Keyboarding and working at a computer monitor for extended periods of 
time.

*BENEFITS:*OPERS (Ohio Public Employees Retirement System). Employer 
contribution is 14% and Employee contribution is 10% toward Employee 
OPERS retirement account.

**

*LEAVE TIME:*New employees who have worked a minimum of 520 hours during 
the first six (6) month introductory period shall be eligible for 
prorated paid sick leave and one week of prorated vacation to be 
credited and available for use only after the completion of six (6) 
months of work.
