[OPLINLIST] Special Lecture Co-Sponsored by New Ohio River Valley Chapter of ASIS&T on April 11th, 2011

Big News!  On Monday April 11, 2011, a special lecture is being co-sponsored by the newest American Society for Information Science & Technology chapter: the Ohio River Valley Chapter.  In conjunction with the University of Kentucky, the new Ohio Valley Chapter is sponsoring a visit with Dr. Sherrilynne Fuller, Professor of Biomedical and Health Informatics at the University of Washington.  
Dr. Fuller's topic "From Intervention Informatics to Prevention Informatics" is a timely one.  As health care information in electronic format has proliferated, the field of "health informatics" has been evolving for several years.  How we collect, manage and transmit health information is one of the critical components to successful health care delivery, and it's receiving more and more attention within the world of library & information science. This special lecture will be held at the Hyatt Regency Lexington Hotel in Lexington, Kentucky on Monday, April 11th, 2011.  If you have interest in attending and would like to "rideshare", contact Timothy Dickey at tdickey1 at kent.edu.  
 
We're very excited about the start of the Ohio River Valley Chapter and wish them great success.  As for news from our Central Ohio Chapter, SAVE-THE-DATE:  we're planning a Spring program on Monday, May 9th - details to follow !
