A free, all-day KnowItNow24x7 (KIN24x7) training opportunity will be hosted by Massillon Public Library (208 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, OH 44646) on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Staff members from area libraries (either those currently participating in KIN24x7 or those interested in joining the collaborative) are invited to attend.

A morning session (10:00 am to 12:30 pm ) will concentrate on "basics" including navigating the KIN24x7 Provider Site and providing hands-on practice with the SparkRef virtual reference software. The afternoon session (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm) will provide advanced training in virtual reference customer service skills, evaluation of real KIN24x7 transcripts, tips on searching and resources, and discussion time for questions. Participants are welcome to come to either or both of these sessions. Lunch will be on-your-own with recommendations provided by Massillon Public Library staff.

Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your place, email your name, preferred email address, library, and which sessions you'll be attending to Don Boozer, KIN24x7 Coordinator, at support at knowitnow.org.

(Note: There will also be other training opportunities in the upcoming months, and details will be posted to the Provider site as soon as they are available.)
