BIG NEWS - KENT STATE SLIS TO OFFER ONLINE MLIS

Beginning in Fall 2011, the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) will offer the Master of Library and Information Science degree completely online. It's called eDegree.

Students accepted into SLIS for this fall can now choose to complete their MLIS online by entering the eDegree program.

eDegree students will be able to choose one of the following areas of specialization: (1) Public Librarian, (2) K-12 School Library Media Specialist, (3) Children's & Young Adult Librarian, and (4) Museum Studies professional.

Additional information, including Frequently Asked Questions about the eDegree program and basic technological requirements, can be found on the SLIS website at http://www.slis.kent.edu/content/view/393/83/.

We invite you to join us for a live, interactive online open house at noon on Thursday, May 26, to learn more about eDegree.

SLIS Associate Professor Greg Byerly, Ph.D., and eDegree Administrative Clerk Mary Paschen will tell you what you need to know to get started and succeed in the program and will answer your questions.

E-mail ksuslis at gmail.com<mailto:ksuslis at gmail.com> to request the URL for the May 26 online open house.

[Note: The eDegree program replaces the school's 12-12-12 Distance Degree program.]
