[OPLINLIST] Branch Manager opportunity

The Akron-Summit County Public Library is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Fairlawn-Bath Branch Manager. Of the system's 17 branches, this is the highest circulating branch with more than 470,000 items borrowed in 2011. The branch, serving Fairlawn, Bath, and Copley, is located in a vibrant, supportive, retail and residential community within an inner-ring suburb of the city of Akron.



Qualifications include demonstrated supervisory skills; ability to assess community interests and needs and develop programs and services accordingly; excellent customer service skills; proven initiative; experience innovating programs and services; and experience collaborating with other entities.  A Master of Library and Information Science degree issued by an ALA-accredited school of library and information science and extensive professional librarian experience are required. Five to ten years of library management, including branch experience, strongly preferred.  Ohio Public Librarian Certification preferred.
