The demand for skilled Health Informatics specialists continues to climb. Health Informatics (HI) is the science that defines how health information is captured, analyzed, transmitted and managed. It focuses on information systems, informatics principles and information technology as applied to the continuum of health care delivery.

Find out if this career field is right for you at a FREE online open house Wednesday, June 13, at noon Eastern (11 am Central). Guest speakers include David Baldwin, Chief Information Officer, Robinson Memorial Hospital, who will discuss the health informatics environment in his organization, and Kent State Health Informatics professor Michael Bice, who will present strategies for success in the Master of Science and certificate programs.

You'll also find out how to apply for one of the new $5,000 Health Informatics Leadership Fund Scholarships, available in Fall 2012.

During the open house, you may submit questions by clicking on the "word bubble" icon at the bottom of your screen. The presenters will answer as many questions as they can during the allotted time.

If you are unable to view the live presentation, it will be archived at the same link (above) for later viewing.

If you have any questions about the health informatics program, please contact Professor Bice at mbice3 at kent.edu<mailto:mbice3 at kent.edu>.
