Sent on behalf of the State Library. Please excuse multiple postings.

On March 21, 2012 an update on the transition to the new statewide
delivery service was distributed broadly to the library community. The
State Library needs to provide a correction and clarification to
information provided in that announcement.

Correction: The first day of service under the new vendor, Priority
Dispatch, will be Monday, April 16, 2012. Priority Dispatch will be
visiting a small number of locations on Friday, April 13, 2012 but they
will only be doing these visits in an observational role with the
current vendor, U.S. Cargo. U.S. Cargo will be doing both pickup and
delivery on Friday, April 13. Priority Dispatch will begin full pickup
and delivery at library locations on Monday, April 16, 2012. We
apologize for any confusion that has been caused by the previous
announcement.

Clarification: The delivery vendors will be visiting libraries based on
their contracted delivery days. If a location does not have scheduled
service on Friday, April 13, whether that is because it is not a normal
contract service day or because of a temporary library closure, that
location will not receive a visit. If a location does not have
scheduled service on Monday, April 16, whether that is because it is not
a normal contract service day or because of a temporary library closure,
that location will not receive a visit.

Reminders:

1. Library closures that affect delivery must always be reported
via the Delivery Customer Service form -
http://library.ohio.gov/Facilities/Delivery/CustomerServiceForm . Since
drivers may change or be replaced by a temporary substitute, it is
imperative that changes in service, even short term, get reported via
the Customer Service Form.

2. Priority Dispatch is still in the process of reaching out
directly to all libraries to verify and establish local delivery
information, including hours for the delivery window, days, and
descriptions of the physical delivery space.

3. New shipping labels will be used. The basic information will
remain mostly the same (address, MID numbers, etc), but the layout will
be updated and there will be a barcode with some additional information
added. The barcodes will help the vendor to increase routing
efficiencies and provide accurate counts of packages moving through the
system. The barcodes will not be unique to individual packages and are
not meant for individual tracking purposes. The State Library is still
working with Priority Dispatch to develop these new labels and we will
make them available on the website as soon as possible. We still
anticipate that the new labels will be completed no later than April 6th
so that you will have a week to print them out and prepare for the new
vendor. New labels will need to be used on Monday, April 16, 2012.

Thank you.
