[OPLINLIST] Gifts for free author visits

I was wondering if any library has ever given a thank you gift to an author when they visit for free. We are having a national author speak tonight and the teen librarian suggested some kind of present. Thoughts? If anyone is interested, it's Mike Mullen, the author of "Ashfall".
