[OPLINLIST] Get Ready: iLEAD USA is Coming!

Please excuse multiple postings...

Do you have a community need that you think can be addressed by
technology?  

Does your community have a problem that can be solved by working with
another type of library?

If so, iLEAD USA is for you.

iLEAD USA is a grant funded immersive program which aims to help
librarians work together to use technology to develop solutions to
pressing community needs.  

Applications will be available on October 1, 2012 for this incredible
program.  However, you will need two things to submit your application:

1.       A Team:  Each team will need to consist of five librarians.
These five individuals should represent at least two different types of
libraries (three school and two academic librarians, three academic and
two special librarians, etc.) and at least three different libraries.  

2.      A Need:  Each team will need to write a statement of need
describing a need that you have identified in your community.  This need
will help you to define the project that your team will work on during
the course of the program.  You should be able to back up your need with
information about your team members and the strengths they bring to the
project, data supporting your identification of the need and what role
technology will have in solving the need.  

The State Library of Ohio only has space for 5 teams for the first year
of this groundbreaking program- start thinking about possible teams and
needs now!

If you have questions about iLEAD USA or need help finding a team, mark
your calendars for the National Day of Application on November 1, 2012.
The National Day of Application will provide you with an opportunity to
find out more about the iLEAD USA program, get help filling out your
application, speak to teams who have gone through the iLEAD U program
and meet people who may be interested in forming a team.  

All applications will be due December 14.
