[OPLINLIST] Cardinal Circle - meetup opportunity for children's librarians

I'm posting this invitation on behalf of Cardinal Circle, a
long-standing, informal network of children's librarians and library
staff working in western Ohio libraries.  Cardinal Circle meets twice a
year and has done so for a long time.  They are transitioning from
announcing their meetings by US Mail to electronically.  They want to
ensure that all interested librarians know about the upcoming meeting.
Please share this info with anyone who might be interested.  

 

All are welcome!  This is a great opportunity to meet other children's
specialists, learn, share ideas, and recharge your batteries.

 

Fall Cardinal Circle event

Thursday, September 20

Registration begins 9:00; meeting 9:30-3:30

Champaign County Public Library, 1060 Scioto St., Urbana

 

RSVP by Saturday, September 15 with Pam Gibson, Champaign County Public
Library, pgibson at oplin.org or 937-653-3811.  If you have any questions
or have dietary needs, please let Pam know.

 

Registration fee is $12.00, which includes lunch consisting of
wraps/sandwiches plus soup, morning refreshments, and beverages.  You
may pay on site, but please register in advance so Pam has an accurate
count for food and handouts.  Make checks out to Pam Gibson.  

 

Presentations and discussion topics will include:

*        Pinterest and Evernote

*        Flannel boards and other storytime extensions

*        "BIG" family after-hours programming

*        Tween programming

*        Weeding

*        And more!

 

Pam encourages attendees to bring a flannel board or a favorite
storytime extension idea to share.

 

If you are interested in Cardinal Circle, whether or not you can attend
the September meeting, I also encourage you to join the new Cardinal
Circle electronic mailing list.  This is a low-traffic list, used
