[OPLINLIST] outreach, partnership with elementary schools

Hello,
Our library is planning to create a position for outreach services to
children.  Our first focus will be on the elementary school population and
we have an initial partnership approval to have "library land" at
elementary schools after school (1 day each week at each elementary).  Do
any of you have a similar program?  Are you willing to share what you've
learned in doing this?

Our secondary focus will be to the preschool population, and we will
probably wait until the school program is well established.

The school media specialist also is involved and very excited, but this
would not be part of her work day responsibilities.

If you have job descriptions or success stories, I'd love to hear from you!
